His eyes fluttered open as the sunlight peeked through the blinds and landed gently on his face. He felt amazing, like he'd just woken up from a year-long hibernation. He stretched and readjusted as he tried to recall the night before. But as he turned over, his eyes fell on the woman lying next to him and his heart instantly sank. Memories of the night before came flooding back to him. They had hobbled back to his room drunk off their asses and locked lips as they sprawled across the bed in a drunken stooper. Images of what he'd done flashed before his eyes. Guilty. The only word he could use to describe what he was feeling. What would she say when she woke up? He knew in the next few minutes he would be forced to explain to his best friend what he'd done to her and face the consequences of his actions. She shuffled slightly next to him and began to leave her peaceful slumber. He was paralyzed in fear, a bead of sweat trickled down his forehead. He knew what he had to do, but he knew he wouldn't be ready.
