I never swaddled my babies - no one did….& they slept on their tummies!! My babies are now 47 & 45 - but they’re still my babies!!! They’re grown men, have good jobs, own houses, are married with kids of their own!!! I’m blessed & very proud of them & my 4 grandkids!!!❤️❤️

@@sueadt8421 It's funny how things change from generation to generation throughout the years. My mom told me when I was a baby back in the 1980s they thought it was perfectly safe to put babies on their tummy to sleep. And now it's a no no because studies have shown it can increase the risk of SIDS.

...I like when they are unswaddled all the way, this way they learn the purpose of their arms and legs when they stretch. If the room is warm enough a complete unswaddle has got to be a great experience for the coordination it requires to stretch and it does come easy and naturally.

Newborns generally prefer being swaddled. It's comforting and settling to them. As she gets older, she won't need it or want it as much. It really has nothing to do with coordination. Right now, she doesn't have a great ability to control her movements anyway. Not at this age.

Don't wake up your babies. They'll wake up on their own, and tell you when they're hungry. Take advantage of them sleeping, and use it to take a nap before they wake up. You don't have to feed than every 3 hours on the dot. They won't starve if they sleep more than 3 hours since the last feeding. You take the chance that once you finish feeding them, they won't go back to sleep for a long time after that! Enjoy the peace and quiet, and get some sleep yourself!
@kailzl12112 жыл бұрын
If u exclusively breastfeed they need to feed on schedule or else mamas breast will be pain her. Skipping feeding sessions/empting the breast completely in a timely manner can cause clogs fevers and/or mastitis. So yes wake baby to eat if you breastfeed.

Sometimes it's necessary, especially when breastfeeding and having to take your baby to the pediatrician for weekly weigh-ins to make sure baby is gaining and getting enough to eat. My third baby was so easy going and would sleep for 4-5 hrs after a good feed, then would wake up mad and inconsolable because he had skipped a feed and, in his mind, was absolutely famished and starving
