Nice solid Pennsylvania car. Holy moly that’s some scary gas spray! Pretty cool everything works on the car.

Thank you! Yeah that petrol hose was the worst I've ever seen. Not that old either. Horay for ethanol..
@conrad14683 жыл бұрын
@@slowshop ha ha!! Ethanol is the devil!! I’ve been using Gates barricade low pressure fuel lines for all my old cars. Just to be safe. 😀

Lovely car Martin, no Landy though :-)

Thank you Phen. 😁 This is just a bit more comfortable than a Landy but nowhere near as cool.

Oh that enginesound! Something special about old flatheads!😍 I've had the same issue with those metall-wraped fuellines, they started to leak after one season! Cool car and I can't wait for the Tudor update! 👍😃

Sounds a bit angry. 😅 I think it's expensive fuel hoses, not Biltema.

Cool Car! I also have a 1954 Desoto Powermaster. Do you know what that bag (?) is on the fire wall? Mine doesn't have that and I've never seen that before. Ty 😁
@slowshop3 жыл бұрын
The 54 are good looking cars. The bag is a Jiffy-Jet windsheild washer bag, very cool option. Thank you for watching.

Nice old Desoto, I thought for sure when you raised the hood that it would have a hemi, you surprised me with a flathead straight six with duals! I have been wondering what had happened to you and the Tudor. I bought another project as well, a 1981 FLHC that hasn't been started since 1992, just got her running again this week! My 1929 Coupe needed a garage friend to keep her happy. Good to see you again Martin.

Thank you Fred! The flathead six is such a great engine and we have 2 cars with that same straight six. Love them! They have a great sound. A Harley Davidson has a place every garage. 👌 I'm working long days during the warmer season and spending the weekends out camping so the old cars have to wait. Great to hear from you again.

Excelente amigo! Tengo un De Soto 51, quería saber como lograste ponerle 2 caños de escapes? Suena grandioso. Saludos desde Argentina 🇦🇷

Aloha Amigo! I used a Y-pipe from the exhaust manifold to split into 2 pipes. Thank you for watching.

Nice, i have a 53 powermaster. What fender skirts do you have on your car?
@slowshop10 ай бұрын
Nice! The fender skirts are 1949-1951 Ford. Perfect fit. Thank you for watching.

i found a 53 powermaster in a garage in my area and was thinking about asking about buying it so i just wanted to ask if this would be a good project car and how hard the parts are to find
@slowshop21 сағат бұрын
Aloha. I think it'll be a very good project car. If its got lots of rust I would may stay away, but mechanical parts is often not hard to find. What's your area? I'm in Sweden. There are a few companies in the USA who have parts for these cars.

Is it a 6 volt or 12 volt system?

@@slowshop I have a 49 prewar, still a 100% factory car. I am looking at doing a restomod to it. Thinking powertrain setup out of a c class 300. Want to keep it 100% mopar.

@@combatbeard7643 That's cool. I wanna put a turbo on the original flathead on this one and a bit more modern transmission. Maybe even a 5 speed stick. 😁
@combatbeard76433 жыл бұрын
@@slowshop that would be a nice swap. Only thing I don't like about these old flatheads are their weight. Remind me of old tractor motors. Mine is "rated" for 115hp, but probably only ever made 85 maybe 90. Lol 0 to 60 in 20 minutes flat!!
