This wakizashi short sword by Minamoto Kiyomaro is known to have been the treasured sword of Takano Takesada, a samurai of the Matsushiro domain in Shinano Province (present-day Nagano city in Nagano Prefecture). In the Kamakura period (1185-1333) naginata pole swords were modified to create this type of short sword, called a modified naginata sword, and this short sword follows that design. It has the grand and heroic shape that Kiyomaro liked. You can view this short sword, with its bright blade, for which Kiyomaro was noted, in the accompanying KZbin video.
