No excuses. It was 4 against 1 and that 1 was on the ground not fighting back and protecting himself. Especially if you fight as a sport, more so you should not be throwing punches unless you have to protect yourself. The Kid had a lot going for him. He is supposed to be the bigger person. I really hope he is taught better than this. It is embarrassing for his Family and the people of Hawaii which he was supposed to represent. Threw it all away. All the physical talent but guess lacking the Intelligence. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Hopefully he becomes a better person after this.

First and foremost that's a crime recorded on video but I don't see him going to jail for his actions. Why is that? The suspension should've been permanent and he should face legal litigation for his actions. That boy that was victimized in this video should also face some kind of disciplinary action because he's also not innocent. He was recorded on another video bullying another kid which probably lead to this beating. All parties should be punished severely but more so on Jovan Lopez simply because he is trained to hurt people and he kept striking someone who said out loud " I don't want to fight you.". A trained fighter's strikes are more likely to kill a person and to top- it off four of them striking that one guy. For those of you that are not from Oahu I will tell you this. Westside Oahu lifestyle is hit first and never think about consequences. There's a lot of people from westside Oahu that train in some sort of martial arts because fighting is life there. Sad but true. Nobody teaches the kids how to solve problems without violence because us adults don't know how to stop the violence either. One point in time, women from westside Oahu used to think that if they didn't get hit by their man, their man must not love them. I only mentioned that about the women to give you all an idea of how much violence is apart of the lifestyle. Don't take my word for it. Do your research.

Exactly what I'm thinking as well. Joven should be punished for it still regardless, but people shouldn't fully victimize the boy getting mobbed either. Both sides are at fault. We should just let this be a prime example, instead, of why you should think about your actions. Hopefully they learned from it because this just continues to give Waianae bad reputation.

For me, I am going back up the Joven kid because if u guys went to listen to the video closely, Joven then said "what like shoot little kids ahh" as for me Joven did the right thing by stopping diesel even though mobbing isn't the right thing to do, Joven still saved lives because if he hadn't stopped diesel (the boy who got mobbed) then people would've died.
