The Nerf Modulus Ghost Ops Shadow ICS-6 is an interesting blaster, based off the internal magazine systems designed with the Star Wars blasters like the Jakku/DL-44, but refined to be a more accessible and prominent blaster choice. Does it succeed? God no. Whatever they decided to do with this new breech system is not only inferior in every single possible way, but completely cripples any kind of real mod potential this blaster has. Honestly it won't be on my recommended list, and the fact that it on paper is one of the things I've wanted from Hasbro for a long time but in practice is such a let-down makes it easily my enemy.

If you're wondering. The spring is only the size of a hammershot.... so yeah... most spring replacements are a no... basically all of this blaster is a no.

Well that gap between the short barrel and the pusher guide thing looks like you coukd have brass that extended to the barrel and short darts could be loaded

Agreed, a six round Retaliator would cast a blinding light on the shadow. I'd go so far as to say that my N-Strike Recon has slightly better range & more customisable too 😝

Maybe you could extend the breech to close over the dart completely to get a better seal, then cut a hole in the empty side and load the internal mag from there? I think this blaster has potential.

I feel like this breech system would be better suited for a rifle sized blaster. Maybe with a bigger plunger tube/spring it would be better. And what advantage does it have over the standard breech system? Sure you don't have to prime it to load, but you can't load it when a dart is chambered, and who runs around without a dart chambered? Neat concept, bad idea. Also this is the perfect opportunity for nerf to release a clear version of the nitron scope

You can strait up hack off an inch or more off the front. I would have liked an 8 or 10 round internal mag, that would have made more sense and wouldn't have ruined the everything in my opinion. That switch in the front is also on the Evader. I think the only thing you can do with that, is to convert it into a flywheeler, and that's probably not worth it to put it lightly... That is just sad, I am disappointed, but I still like the video :D

I don't know if I'm wrong here but isn't this just a front loader? (internally) because it looks like the "breach" shoves a dart in the barrel (like you would on a front loader) then it shoots it with the tiniest barrel. Is this actualy true?

I feel like if you cut the whole thing in half than extended the body and replaced the entire back area with something a bit better than MAYBE you could get some good performance but as you said that would basically be a complete overhaul.

The shell is still pretty sweet and that's enough to motivate someone to build something better. I mean, modding started with reverse plunger weaksauce blasters. We have 3d printers and options. We will show Hasbro what it should have been.

The shadow ICS-6 is one of my new favorite blasters. I have hit 93 FPS (Using a Caldwell crono) and can fit 7 darts with no external magazine mods.

so basically this is like a retaliator that is stuck using 6-round mags you have to reload manually. lol. I bet someone could up the capacity by merging it with a 14-round mag or something kinda like when people (or one guy I should say) merged a centurion mag into the Magnus

Walcom, I am not surprised at your review. I thought the Evader was too large and had the same feelings about the Shadow just from the pictures. As for the lack of power, that is all on Hasbro. Don't degrade the Nailbiter to the level of the Shadow. The harmonica magazine comes with some inherent flaws but is just what the geek ordered with the Nailbiter. The Shadow just suffers from poor design choices.
