I've never done this. It looks so simple but I think my daughter would love this. Thanks for sharing. I'd love to see more videos like this.

Ta'Shiba I The Joyful Warrior My children have really enjoyed making these. It’s wonderful for them to make something they can play with for years to come. I’ll most definitely be posting more videos like this!

Awesome video! Exactly what I was looking for! I needle felted one, but this way looks much quicker! And once it dries I can always add more detail! I will make one for my classroom as well! I’d love to see an ocean playscape!

Jennifer Salzwedel-Kemp I’ve done them both ways and this way is sooo much faster. You can make a huge one in pretty much the same amount of time. I’ll post a video soon of my ocean play scape and some fun resources we use with it.

Is there anyway to fix thin spots on the play mat after you've wet it and worked it? Thanks for any insight!

Can you use something other than bubble wrap? We are a plastic free home, so I would rather avoid if possible.

I haven't done this yet so I am going off the top of my head as a sewist. What about oil cloth? I would say a dense Polyester fleece but you say you don't want plastic and this is made from recycled plastic bottles.
