Very wonderful. I admire your skill and am in awe of your set up, which is now totally beyond my understanding. 😂 In the early 80’s whilst attending various concerts from Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Robert Schroeder et al, at home I had a Juno 6, SH101 and Pro One … I think I managed to tease some nice sounds out of them, watching this, sometimes I wish I had persevered. I sold up completely instead and headed to Indian Kashmir with a beautiful Dutch girl … the twists and turns of life eh 😄. Thanks for sharing your creativity with us, I very much enjoy your music 🙏 A very delicate piece 👍

I’d love to know how you have this routed. Is the Iridium routed through the microcosm, Big Sky, El Capistan and Aeros one after the other? What do you route the drum machine through, or is that signal just untouched? I’m new to all this, trying work out what gear i need to do something similar to your ambient videos. I already have the Iridium and a Polybrute, just need help with how the effects are all routed?
@stateazure Жыл бұрын
Yeah, the effects are just one after the other, I don't remember the order. Usually it would be Microcosm > El Cap > Big Sky > Looper at the end of the chain. I don't think I used the Digitakt here, but that probably wouldn't have been routed through the effects. All these effects have mix control, so they work fine in serial/one after the other

@@stateazure It may not be the a classic dry delay pedal, but it's an amazing instrument on its own. The digital delay side can grab a sample and play it ad nauseum with no degradation...you can dispense with the looper. The tube overdrive side is pretty gritty/amazing as well.

That's very cool ! Well done for the ambiance ! What would you say is the number one and two secrets to make long drones for ambient with any synth ?
@andrewgenner26133 жыл бұрын
I believe movement is key. That can be achieved through modulation in the sound itself, phasing, panning etc., but if the sound is too static it will get boring. Even one note or one chord can be mesmerizing if the tone colour is changing.

So what would a gear setup like yours cost? And are those software synths/arpeggiators/modulators expensive? I wish all that software stuff was available 30 years ago.. If I had all your gear (and my inspiration) I would die from creative exhaustion within 6 months.. How do you switch off your creativity? Although you can just go to sleep while you let the generative gear run on its own 😉
