Some of those noise based sounds are worth the price alone. They sound amazing. My P12 has noise, but I have not mastered it to the point where I am thinking it sounds amazing.

Woah the speed on the lfo did that just hit like several note ranges? It sounded like FM algorithm changing but then went to what sounded like a saw wave LFO...if the LFO is that fast holy shit.
@Deeplycloseted4356 жыл бұрын
The mod matrix on this thing is ridiculous. Similar to the flexibility of DSI Mopho/Tetra series, but three DCOs and allow using oscillators as sources for audio rate modulation. This is a serious sound designer’s synth. I only wish that they had used that screen in the way they did on Blofeld. Who gives a shit about the patch number? Its weird. They could have displayed envelope shapes, LFO fades, etc. Also, a digital delay would have been a nice addition. Get one from europe, brand new they cost less than 2nd hand in US.
@jeffc17536 жыл бұрын
Kevin Harris I wrote to Waldorf many months ago and requested that they swap out the large patch number on the screen with more relevant information. Their response was that they were too busy working on the Quantum. And that’s their problem. Almost every single product they’ve ever made has an incomplete OS because they get bored so quickly with what they have and allocate their resources on the next big thing. Blofeld still has bugs galore, for instance. It’s a shame.

The fact you've never owned an analog synth may explain your reasoning. I've never heard a better Waldorf synth, and this is one of the very best sounding new monos of the last 15 years.

I had one, there's just way too many presets and not really enough oscillator power. You have to use the FX a lot more as part of the sound design.

really prefer this over many other entry level monos. (moog slim phatty, dsi mopho...etc) but my solaris has a sound equally as fat if not more and is digital.... *patiently waits for the analog renaissance to wash over*
@kingtrance68265 жыл бұрын
Yes and your Solaris has an equally fat price tag Em0killer13. Fantastic synth though... Enjoy! 👍

imagine how fat your sound would be if you layered enough Pulse 2s to equal the price of a Solaris.

Thanks for the demo! Do I have ludicrous tin ears, or does this Pulse 2 sound less good than the Nord Lead 4, despite being bonefide analog!? I've never owned an analog synth, perhaps I'm not listening out for the right aspects of the sound.

***** can u give us some advice on what eurorack components to get ? Not to expensive but to start off with. I'm looking for modern sounds though, but most ppl think modern means dubstep, not true.
@6581punk6 жыл бұрын
Nord Lead 4 has FX. Any synth sounds more "complete" with FX on it. The Pulse 2 doesn't have an FX section other than distortion.

If you pretend this to be a demo of a synth then you shouldn´t always play in the bass range. Playing bass isn´t the normal task of a keyboardist.
@trevor48354 жыл бұрын
