This video has me looking for a reasonably priced second-hand Streichfett.

I just scored one on eBay. I'll be pairing it with Beringer Odyssey in my mixes. I think they'll compliment each other really nicely. Odyssey is monophonic and can do a lot of great bass, lead and drone sounds...or arpeggiations with the 32 step sequencer. The Odyssey is hooked up to an Andromeda delay box which deepens it and spreads it until it almost sounds polyphonic. I have a feeling that with the Streichfett added I will attain a really lush, variegated and continuously morphing ambient sound. For my bread & butter sounds I use a Yamaha MX61. Even though I really love me some nice retro analogish synth sounds and find that in most of what I do, I love adding acoustic nuances to that with 12string, piano, and various ethnic instruments as well. The MX gives me that and I'm sure it will serve as a good controller for Streichfett. MX has a decent arpeggiator too. That makes me think of strings like you hear on some of The Who's music, like Reign O'er Me and Quadraphenia. And Led Zeppelin's Rain Song!

Excellent ! The reverb seems to give some noise at low volumes, but that might be hidden under the few layers of sound.

Sounds great, reminds me of early Yello

Very nice. There are certainly some familiar classic sounds (CS80 blade runner ?!?). Well done.

Thank you. Yes indeed. It's not a goto / all in one package but it is certainly a very nice unit. If the solo section had some sort of filter cutoff or tone control it would have been perfect. I found some nice filter-like tone shaping possibilities by tweaking the registration control while playing (as you can hear towards the end where it sounds like a filter is being opened more and more).

How is this sound greated from Streichfett 2:57??
@Dovinia9 жыл бұрын
tinytab The filtersweep-like sound is generated by turning either one of the Registration, Balance or Tone dials. I can't remember how I did and it's been a while since I used this unit. But I found some particularly interesting "morphing" effects by modulating the Registration dial by hand while playing.

Do you have any problems with clipping?

Meant to say lovely track too! :-)
@Dovinia9 жыл бұрын
ghostly606 Yes. I get some strange compression-like artefacts when I commit the tracks to video formats. And KZbin removes a lot of high end content it seems. The sound of this synth is much more open and rich sounding first hand.
