I'm from Wales and I have to agree with you. It's amazing how well Fiji does considering the limited resources and exposure to top tier matches they have. They so so often run tier 1 nations close (and take scalps) due to sheer warrior valour plus an abundance of genetically formidable and naturally talented players. If they ever get the required serious backing from the IRB then, watch out, more tier 1 heads would roll!

Please can anyone explain why Ken Owens got yellow carded? The refs explanation was "speed of the player"🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️. Owens tackled low and raised up from a squatting position in an attempted to drive the Fiji player back.....he certainly did not expect the Fiji player to flip over him. There was zero malice from Ken Owens, no attempted dump tackle here, this is just pure physics....even the commentators said the Fijian player flipped over him....much like if you run full speed and trip over something. I can't see how punishing a player for putting a good tackle is good for the sport. The other players forward momentum made it look far more spectacular than it was, neither player were at fault it's just a freak incident, of course the crowd will react when the watch it on slo-mo on the big screen, but the players didn't react and it's Garcia's job not to react and keep a calm head. Rubbish reffing ruins rugby (tongue twister).

guidance from World Rugby; just like any tackle above the shoulder - even if the tackled player ducks into it - was being carded; the ref has no discretion. In this case, whatever the circumstances, the Fijian player's legs went above the horizontal, therefore, immediate yellow card. Please note, I don't disagree with your analysis. Many of the "newer" laws which have been brought in for good reasons - player safety - are having a detrimental effect on the game.

To survive I would love to see Fiji, Samoa and Tonga combine and play as one team like they did back in 2004 as the Pacific Islanders (they would easily be competitive in the Rugby Championship) or at least as a touring team like the British and Irish Lions. Imagine what these nations sides individually would have looked like in the past (and how many world cups they could have won) if all of their playing resources were not constantly being plundered not only traditionally by NZ and Australia (way too many players to namecheck both past and present but some current ones Laulala, Tu'ungafasi, Ioane, Reece, Naisarani, Daugunu, Paisami, Koroibete ) but also now also by the home nations (Billy and Mako Vunipola, Taulupe Faletau, Bundee Aki, Manu Tuilagi).
