That second instrument is sarodh, a traditional instrument in classical Subcontinental music. Unfortunately it is little used in Pakistan today. There are only 2 sarodh players in the country, one this young man, and the other one is Ustad Tanveer Hussain. We have seen Ustad Tanveer in previous Coke Studio seasons. Sad state of affairs. Sarodh is used more in India. I have always thought the sound of the sarodh in a blues song would be divine. It has just this intensely melancholic sound.

In my view, Momina is todays Nazia Hassan (Nazia along with her brother Zoheb, introduced pop in Pakistan in the 80s and was dubbed as the Nightingale of Pakistan). Momina's voice texture is quite similar to Nazia's, and I hope one day she revives Nazia's masterpieces that were sung long time ago and are priceless even today. You guys must react to the BTS of this song, and see for yourself how this song came into being, you'll just be amazed. Hope to see you there. Take care, stay safe, cheers!!!

To give you an idea of the richness, thickness of the amazing talent at work here, even the video director is a very accomplished musician who was an Abdullah Sidiqui (you need to check him out for his song "resistance" from Nescafé basement) of his time. Zeeshan Parwez the video director is from the band "Sajid and Zeeshan" who gave us that iconic song "King of self" way back in 2006. Ps. Wondering if you read the comments side I hardly ever see a response of any sorts from you guys in the comment section. Maybe you need to reconsider that great too. Keep it up, good work 👍🏽
