This movie has been running in theater since the day it released in 1995, so that's 28yrs almost! It was re-released all across the country again during valentine's week nd ppl were back in theaters! It was so amazing to be a part of that crowd all over again! Ppl hooting nd screaming nd saying all dialogues together, dancing in the theaters, laughing, crying all together!! It is such a wholesome experience! This film is just love! ❤❤

One word ICONIC movie . Scenes from this are as iconic as it can ever be it launched SRK as the romantic star and it helped him become popular international star as well as paved the way for his career .SRK AND KAJOL are that pair that are married in everyones head like no one can replicate their chemistry. It is classic and the longest movie running in theatre a place in mumbai has it shows today also . Songs, dialogue, acting ,drama and chemistry all were iconic .

DDLJ is actually the longest running Indian film, (its still running in a theatre in Mumbai) going on like 25+ years now or something. It's actually funny that you guys said Kajol and SRK make a stunning pair cuz they're kinda Bollywood's IT couple (the Leo Dicaprio and Kate Winslet type), theyre both married, have kids, and lead separate lives, but people love their on screen pairing. Funnily enough a good chunk of 90s/2000s kids grew up thinking SRK and Kajol were actually married (including me). It was like the Mandela effect, for some odd reason so many people thought they were together irl when they were both married to different people. They are best friends tho.

So this movie is like THE CLASSIC movie of Bollywood. More like the face of Bollywood. Them in that yellow farm hugging each other is the all time classic picture of Bollywood. This movie is loved by many and is still being played in one of the theatres near me even after so many years! Also they are the most famous Bollywood pair… my generation people even thought that they are real couple in our childhood days cuz their pair was soo famous 😂

DDLJ is def top 3 most iconic and path breaking films of indian cinema, and came around during a time of transition for the country.... India was just opening up to global commerce, and the film talked to a lot of the battle of cultures between traditional values and values of the ever increasing diaspora. Now... the film has LOTS of 90s cringe and old school cheese... Parts of it have not aged too well, but it has a real beating heart and soul.. and the MUSIC is absolutely timeless yet very very very commercial

DDLJ was huge for us guys, heres the main reasons why. For us Brits like me, we had SRK play a British boy who was essentially 'Mr perfect' and for the Indian audience in India they no longer had to dream of being a typical local lover now. Raj (srks character) was fresh and modern for the new age. Aditya broke all old traditions in film making. Old Bollywood romance usually has boy and girl fall in love and parents go against them so they run away, where as Aditya introduced MODERN traditions where arrange marriage is not the way anymore and also Raj is not a coward to run away, he fights with principle. It was a great movie for the elderly and parents to watch, they came out of it understanding the new Gen better. This movie laucnhed the next phase of romance in Bollywood

This movie is wonderful and it shifted the entirety of Indian cinema and is the longest running movie in Indian cinema history (I think second longest running in the world too but I might be outdated on this larger statistic) -- it's such a great movie with iconic songs that all Indians know and love and even for that reason alone you should watch it -- some of the most famous songs to ever exist -- but I have to say I really prefer the subsequent movie that this same pairing (SRK and Kajol) did which is Kuch Kuch Hota Hai -- also a VERY famous movie and perhaps a little more modern feeling; I would totally suggest you watch both, and maybe even try KKHH first since it feels a little more relatable. KKHH is my favorite movie of all time and I'm not even a huge Bollywood fan; I don't think I've ever seen two characters more convincingly in love with each other and they never even kiss technically -- watch it and you will see what I mean -- it's an emotional feat of history and very cherished. If you try DDLJ and don't like it, please try KKHH regardless. Also - this pairing is absolute gold together. Even the Indian actors all say the same - SRK and Kajol will convince you they should be married lol. They are the Indian Kate Winslet and Leo Decaprio and I'm really excited that you have run into them. :D

If there was a hall of fame for Indian movies and music, this movie and its songs would be definitely in top 10..and this is almost 30 years old. It’s a masala movie that was made in the 90’s. It’s got questionable story and acting choices but the emotions are all very endearing. You must understand india and the Indian subcontinent in the 90s coz this movie is internationally recognized but extremely Indian. If it’s on the Telly, ppl are watching it. It’s got some of the most memorable dialogues and scenes, several memes, it’s part of Indian psyche to this day, and its love is prolly not fade for a while. I hope you enjoy it!
