Oh Fritzie was so amazing in The Clash! She was in the same season as Jessica Villarubin, and Jessica was the Grand Champion. I'm surprised you haven't reacted to any Divas of the Queendom performances, those are GREAT!!!

The song is "This is my Life" by Shirley Bassey (she's known for recording most of the James Bond films theme songs like Diamonds are Forever) it's one of the big classics that singers would usually perform for like a championship level of finals of a singing competition here in the PH.😁😁😁

Fritzie does have that vintage sound very much like Shirley Bassey. Maybe that is why she favors her songs. I suggest you check her when she sings Diamonds are Forever which she also performed in The Clash.

I can't believe you don't know Ms. Shirley Bassey. She's Welsh. Her songs were much loved and performed by an earlier generation of singing champions here. Around the same era as Pilita Corrales and Carmen Patena. The latter being dubbed as the Shirley Bassey of the Philippines. 😎

The reason why there is another contestant in the stage is because it is literally a "clash" between contestants each round. There are even some rounds where they handpick their opponent/rival or sometimes it's random picking.

FYI: This Is My Life (La vita) is a 1968 album by Shirley Bassey (a famous singer from the UK in a few of the James Bond films) that was released in Italy on the United Artists label (UA 9035). In 1968 Bassey performed at the Sanremo Music Festival in Italy singing the song "La vita." This song was originally written by Bruno Canfora, with (Italian) lyrics by Antonio Amurri. For the song Bassey sang at the festival, the lyrics were partially rewritten in English by Norman Newell. Frank Sinatra sang this song as well...Cheers - American-Filipino here on the West Coast of the USA.

This song is made famous by Shirley Bassey. She is British and was famous during the 60's to 70s. She was the only singer who sang 2 James Bond theme songs, Goldfinger and Diamonds are Forever. I even remember before, when she was requested to performupon before her Majesty, the Queen. I am sure your Mom and Dad would know her.
