"tuloy pa rin" by the old time band neocolours wasn't made expressly for mcdonald's, though. it's classic o.p.m., if i remember right, from the early 90s.

Jingle composers is a career in the Philippines, a small niche of music producers/composers and even recording artists that advertising agencies hire. When a product launch, they hire to compose a specific melody for a product, same that one would remember for a lifetime. And most recording studio's would provide their business with advertising agencies to get more revenues.

'Tuloy Pa Rin', an original song by Neocolours, was a very popular song in the 90's so technically the song was not written as a McDonald's jingle. SB19 has written (and produced) full-on songs as jingles and even did choreographies for Dunkin' Donuts, Pepsi, Acer PH, G Cash, Lucky Me, etc. They even made Christmas jingles for some of these brands - it's insane! But all of them are catch af!!! You might also want to check out PABLO's composition of LIMITLESS for G22 (Acer PH)? They also performed it on the Wish Bus!

there is a big industry here in the philippines where music is made for commercial and political use. songs made for politicians here in the philippines can be quite vibey as well.

Jollibee is a remarkable place... A lot of things happen here, first and foremost it's a place where you'll never fail to make a kid happy. it is also a place to relax when you're tired, I don't know about you but it is also a dating place, a place for reunions, a place for regular meetups, it can also be a marketplace whre you buy stuff and meet here, a place for birthdays, christening. Also a tambayan, this is when you stay there eat food but stay longer than you should (basically loitering) hahahaha.... For sure, jolibee is not just a fastfood place but a special place for - I could even say ALL filipinos. If you're not from a remote area for sure you've been to a Jolibee on more than one occasion.

I have never really thought of these commercials as unusual. well, being a filipino. I am certain every filipino has their own favorite ad song. some of mine other than the abs-cbn christmas station ID's are the Coca-Cola's Nikki Gil ad "Sana" heck yeah she became a well known singer after that one. Also Coca-cola's "Beat Game" it became a household game where everybody does it before they start drinking their cola. This is true especially at school where we compete first with our classmates by singing and playing it. It's like 2 people at the opposite side trying to finish the sequence first then the first one will have the chance to grab the coke in the middle and drink it. Lol. and one more really iconic song that even became a favorite in graduation song is Nikki Gil's Glowing Inside" for Vaseline.

Filipino artist are paid by millions of pesos.... like Sarah G. is paid 30-50 million pesos per commercial how much more for Regine V. That is why title is important like" Asia's Songbird" because talent fees are based most often on titles and ranking when doing a commercial. And Filipinos are fanatic (either on religion, showbiz, and plitics etc.) so companies doing commercial really earns enormously.

Yup! Our commercial songs are bop. Mainly because Filipinos is such a singing community that it's easier for us to remember things while singing. So singing the jingles in public spaces is somewhat a marketing strategy. Lol! SB19 has a lot of songs for brands so A'tin include those songs in their streaming. I mean Merry Munchkin is basically my fave xmas song now. 😂 And it's a Dunkin' commercial. Also their songs for Acer are so good! They are currently promoting McDonald's too.

I think in the TV era, it was a good way to promote yourself as a singer to be used in commercials back then.
