There was a time when music composers of 80s started saying Lata’s time is over and it’s Anuradha now. She is not even that trained like others.

You got the story of Agar Tum Saath ho a bit wrong. AR Rahman initially had composed a completely different track for that scene. We don't know anything about it... But that initial track was used when they were filming the scene itself. But AR was not satisfied with it, so when the movie was in the editing stages, he said he could make a much better song. I think we actually went thru a few compositions before arriving at Agar Tum Saath Ho. He called Alka to sing the song, and she recorded the whole thing for him on skype with very minimal instructions. The soundtrack was apparently released within a few days of Alka singing, so it was very very last minute lol.

Actually Indians failed to do justice some movies which should never flopped like mera naam joker(one of my most favorite movie and my father's also), Swades, Dil se , Tamasha, Fan (if it is made by other country then it will be surely hit because story is too realistic and dark), tumbbad etc. Still maximum say why not making new plot movie , not only that good music also don't get views or recognition , just for troll seeing bad ones always and making comment why not new type of music . There were many comic and novels writers but so underrated . Now, all types of ppl like any shape , size, ages etc get recognition in Indian cinema(though nepotism is a problem in Bollywood) but still ppl not satisfied and telling why not good looking ones when lietrally in 90;s it does and srk considered "ugly" at that time.
