Most of our movies are made and based on entertainment. So the same vibe is there with the award shows. Entertainment such as dance numbers, comedy skits and singing inbetween announcing the winners. Shows go in for long hours.

There are still big award shows, but people don't really respect them or get excited for them like they used to. I would say they were fantastic up until around 2017-2018. But since then its been pretty mid. Part of the reason is the awards themselves being pretty blatantly bought or biased towards specific actors and actresses. So the prestige and integrity awards like Filmfare used to have is missing now. And the public is well aware of all this. Also the quality of performances have gone down. Earlier when the award shows were at their peak, around 2008-2016, A-Listers like SRK, Ranbir, Saif Ali Khan, Priyanka Chopra etc used to host them and almost all major A-listers performed and were involved in some way. Nowadays, performances are mostly done by B-Listers, TV actors and others. Very rarely do major A-Listers host and perform. And most of them don't even show up unless they have an award. And that's been the difference I guess. Earlier it used to feel like the whole industry coming together to celebrate cinema and each other. Now its very evidently rigged and the quality of the events themselves have gone down multiple tiers. So even the actors themselves are disinterested.
