Dedlocated to Honorable Sherriff Mustapha Dibba. Founding father and first Vice President of The Republic of The Gambia and later founder and leader of the National Convention Party (NCP), the largest opposition party in The Gambia's first republic. He later served as speaker of the National assembly.

Anytime I see his face I get happy. A man of integrity and decency. The equation would have been different if you were given the chance to rule the Gambia. The Gambia is still under hardship because of PPP. The population is less educated, less wealthy, less peaceful and what not. You're definitely missed. RIP.

This song is not by Jaliba originally. It precedes the rise of Jaliba Kuyateh. Both Lalo Keba Drammeh and Jobarteh Jalis sang it. They stopped playing it on Radio Gambia from the mid 70s onwards. In his heyday, Walimang was a very effective VP who also never forgot his political base.
