Wow. Talk about your one-hit wonders! The Money Train car was a former IRT car 7186. It would have been nice to have it spruced up and be on display at the New York Transit Museum someday. I liked the film with Wesley Snipes, Woody Harrelson, Jennifer Lopez and Robert Blake. The scene where the car crashes and rolls and tumbles in the tunnel was created by Sessums Engineering. They did the crash scene near the end of the movie "Speed". That one featured a runaway Los Angeles city bus and a subway train in the same city. Good action film.

If I had the money I would definitely buy and restore it. Looks like the MTA is just letting it rot. I also thought it was in a museum somewhere.

I feel like it belongs in the museum, as well. But, since it's a movie prop and not actual MTA machinery, it won't be moved to there.

Coney Island most likely. This is an R22 subway car, which retired in 1987 and replaced by the R62A fleet.
