Good LAWD!! I haven't heard this song in like 30-35 years. My Caribbean parents had regular "Old Folks Parties" and we kids were never invited, we just refreshed the ice & beer. This song played at least 5 times per night. LOVE IT!!

I'm so sorry for you loss. I lost my Mom 28 years ago. This song was top of her playlist circa 1995. She had this on rotation during her "Grown Folks Parties". Coupled up, dating or not everyone danced, waltzed, or Mambo'd or Calypso'd to this song. As a professional dancer she taught me different ways to dance to this song ... I just love it!

As teenagers in Trinidad, my sister and I were dating two best friends. My sister and her boyfriend would always have these falling outs, whilst my boyfriend and I watched on. And apparently my mother as well, as she would immediately put this record on and start dancing an singing, this song for my sister and her boyfriend. Everyone, in the house and outside would break out laughing. She was so funny my mom. Miss her everyday, RIP MoM😔🇹🇹🏴

Rihanna ' s mom a Guyanese and her dad a Bagan will relate to these music. But it's a shame there is no one saying anything about her doing any charity work in Guyana. At the least she still supported Barbados which is very good too. These are the music her parents grew up with .
@Versiongurl2 жыл бұрын
@@ameeliaramotar8450 I agree Rihanna rarely acknowledge her Guyanese roots but trust me she know well about Guyana and she can put on a Guyanese accent when she get ready. She was very close to her mom and grandmother on her mother’s side before she passed.

This song will always be me and my Baby's "go to" song despite the words talking about "walk away from love." No matter where in a crowded room we are, once it starts we find each other like magnets and walk right into each other's arms. The first time we danced to this song it was magic for us and it just kept having the same effect every time we would hear it at a party. The way I see it, if it still causes us to walk "to" love 10 years later (and it still does) then it will always be Mr & Mrs. M's favorite love song. Thanks Shirley Stewart
