According to Wikipedia, Chartwell Shopping Centre is a shopping centre located on a 4.22-hectare site in the suburb of Chartwell, 5.6 kilometres north of Hamilton, New Zealand. The shopping centre is informally referred to as "Chartwell Square" by many Hamilton residents, as this was its name before The Westfield Group took over ownership.
It has over 100 stores conveniently located under one roof and with ample free covered-parking.

Before they built Chartwell shopping centre, it was a hill we used to play on with our trolleys (go karts without motors) There was a small dairy (milk bar in some countries) and that was it Then they cleared it all and put up Chartwell square and we couldn't play there anymore I remember Skippy the bush kangaroo visiting, well, it was the helicopter from Australia, I think the kangaroo wasn't allowed into the country. They gave out free ice creams on a stick It was the largest shopping centre in Australasia at the time because as a concept it was so new New Zealand used to be used to test lots of things first because it had a small isolated population. Many of the TV shows used to come to New Zealand before Australia Then years later they increased the size of Chartwell Square but by that time it was considered small by shopping centre sizes I get back there every so many years, it's still small by other standards and the shops are not unique but the same brands as other places One thing you notice though, is the lack of people but that's a good thing, people stop and engage in conversion with you and shop keepers are not trying the hard sell like other places It's a nice place to visit still

I have memories of new zealand on my childhood... one thing i dont know shape of it that goosebump me and cry and tears... god let me see the whole persepctive and all child i make friends with it.. i am happy..

Hamilton does get a bad rap and visually it is a mostly beautiful town full of trees and relatively nice streets. But when I visited there recently there is an underlying negative vibe to the place that is hard to not notice and it reminded me why I don't like being in Hamilton.
