I'm kinda old but new at try'n to make noise on a guitar and I've always loved this riff. I tried dropped D and had to jump all over and not get the tone or speed when it kicks up. Thank you for the heads up on the full 430 tuning,I still suck but now i suck less to me and my old-lady is not happy with you because I'm not going to stop until I get closer or I run out of blood in my figures.Thanks Brudda!

You are the man. Thank you beyond thank you. Im a 43 year old picker that has been playing since I was 13 or 14.. I grew up playing Slayer, Metallica, Anthrax, ect. About 10 years ago I lost my mind and started playing country only, basically just chord music.. Freaking boring.. I stopped drinking a little over a year ago and out went those skinny jean wearing country fakes.. Anyways, thanks to some help with your videos "and not drinking" the metal is back on point. You make it soooooo simple for me. I am playing so much again that my freaking wrist feels broken. Your lessons have brought the metal back out of my soul. Sent me into some kind of mid-life crisis.. I have got a ton of new guitars and amps.. I love it. can you do some D.R.I. ? Anything off Thrash zone will work. Also, some stuff from the "Show no Mercy" album would be great.. thanks again man

I appreciate tutorial videos, but these days it's kind of accepted that the producers include suggestions as to how to obtain tone on the recording and/or the tone that they're getting in the instructional video. So it would be really helpful if videos like this include information like: guitar model, string brand and gauge, pedals used, amplifier model, cabinet and speakers. And if it's modeled with a pedal: the setting used (and the same with modeling software). Video of all of that is helpful too.

6 years later and this is helping me greatly... Im a very novice player and this is probably a dumb question to a lot of you. But right when you open this video you do that slide and I cant for the life of me figure out what strings you're sliding on mine just doesnt sound right! Can anyone point me in the right direction please? Looks like hes starting around the 2nd fret on strings 6 and 5 and sliding up to the 19th then back down?

Liked and shared as usual. I had to do a youtube search for this song. I don't remember ever hearing this song before. But I have never been a big fan of Metal. I have to say though, since I have been trying to learn guitar. I have developed a strong like for playing Metal. Never realized just how good a player Dimebag was til I tried playing some of his music. I have been trying your lesson on Cowboys Fro Hell and the speed is just Crazy. Hopefully one day I can get the speed part.
