I worked with a guy that always changed the tips out on his cheap leak detector , he said it reduces false positives

Great video! Keep them coming! Whenever I am unsure what refrigerant the system takes I was taught to always go to the TXV and see what color or what refrigerant it says. Some of the compressors we install have a 404 sticker on it but the TXV is green and says r22 so we use 22. Thanks again!

Two fans on CU and evap. Big system for a little freezer. If you did a full replace, hope you did a heat load calc. Wouldn't expect that size walk in freezer to need two fan evap.

Overtime is good... it looks like half the garbage that I work on too. 🤣 twenty year old suction filter rusted to hell... I feel for you man, I hate cheap / broke ass customers who refuse to replace worn out junk. The question isn’t where that machine is leaking, it’s where isn’t it leaking? I’d bet it’s full of formacary corrosion (despite the fact that sight glass indicator was green). Probably the evap and condenser coils have leaks in the middle somewhere too. Good video, thanks.

Honestly i dont know whybhe bothers looking for the leaknfron the look of the walk in boxes they obviously aren't going to fix it just gas it and go you cant fox them all.

Cheers from Ontario, Canada Curious. Interesting vids. I enjoyed my Refrigeration and compression classes in my power engineering studies and one thing about it, heat transfer is interesting stuff and much appreciated on them hot sticky nights when one tries to sleep comfortably! Refrigerant sure is magical jizz! :)

If u end up replacing the evap and condensing unit put that suction trap in the right spot, on the riser going up to the roof..... And don't put that stupid inverted trap on the liquid line back in lol, no idea why they would do that.
@curioushvacguy68765 жыл бұрын
I could never figure out what the purpose of that inverted trap was- maybe it was a confusing day for whoever installed it

Well that one is a real Gem of a box.. I agree, tear it down and start fresh.. :-) SOMETIMES... You can spin those service valve (Not King or Queen) seats all the way down, coat the inside walls of the valve body real good with Nylog, spin them back up and down a few times to get them to re-seal. THAT SAID, most likely won't work on a ~30 year old valve.. :-)

IF they pay I found it better to keep things running for as long as they want to throw $ at it. In the end you will get paid for all the service plus the install.

Best thing to do is stick your screwdriver into condenser coil,then they must buy a new one.Cheap ass restaurants,they are the same here in Germany.R404 prices have skyrocketed,gold is cheaper.

Any decent company runs depreciation on the equipment. They knew 20 years ago... it kills me the way they bust our balls on this shit... "oh no the product spoiled!" Yeah, and corporate calculated those losses into the cost of the product. I agree, its TIME. Probably the only thing I really cant stand about commercial. That liquid line Schrader probably was seated until the ambient dropped and line pressure reduced allowing it to start pissing. Leaks are funny.
