Walk Playa de las Américas, Tenerife

"Playa de las Américas is a purpose-built holiday resort in the southern and southern-west part of the Municipality of Arona, close to the adjoining Municipality of Adeje in the west of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands. It was built in the 1960s beside the town of Los Cristianos and stretching west to the Costa Adeje. The resort area features bars, nightclubs, restaurants, attractions, and beaches, most of which are man-made with imported sand from Africa due to the darkness of the native volcanic sand. Playa de las Americas is a centre of nightlife in Tenerife. Nightlife is spread around the resort and includes the Veronicas Strip, Starco Commercial Centre and the Patch.
Beaches
There are five main beaches.
Playa de El Bobo
This beach is found at the foot of H10 Gran Tinerfe hotel. This is the northernmost beach of Playa de las Américas.
Playa de Troya
Protected by breakwaters, Playa de Troya beach allows for fun in the water without high waves. This beach is located near Ravine of Troy (Spanish: Barranco de Troya). "

Mac Bobrowski from July 1st the government of Spain will allow international flights and the end of restrictions, Tenerife will always welcome you :)

Great video stable shots. Looks like not a lot of people around, usually it’s full. I was there and filmed at the end of May when it’s the slow season and it was really busy, you can see on my videos.

I only can imagine how it was in the 80's there. i start going to Tenerife only about 5 years ago. Love the place, i have been 4 times to Tenerife.

Not so sure about that... The first hotels in Las Americas were built in the 60's, and the Troya was built in the 70's... Definitely remember there being several hotels in the area myself.

@@kmcarchive8288 you are right there, Las Americas Los Christianos as a resort is only about 50 years old.if you are on Facebook and interested in Tenerife look into a group called Old Tenerife as I am an administrator there and there are loads of photos to look through.

Me too! Stayed at Parque de la Paz, just beachland in front then, Mediterranian Palace there now, massive blue hotel, and in those days could reserve a smoking seat on the flight - as you say, how times have changed!
