Walk with me | Ep. 11 - Shimla, Himachal Pradesh | A Walk Before Dawn & Deliciously Early Breakfast

[e-mail] | Shimla, Oct, 2023: This video experience starts a very early morning on the Jakhu Hill in Shimla. We start well before sunrise when the surroundings are super quiet and somewhat scary and the only sounds we hear are the sounds of the early morning bids just waking up and just waking us up.
We tread carefully and watchfully, well aware that there are some leopards high up in the forested areas of Jakhu Hill. It is rare for them to venture into the human inhabited areas of Shimla - rare but not impossible. As we walk and descend further down towards the Ridge we get more confident that all will probably be well this chilly windy Shimla morning with no possible leopards in sight.
We wtiness the stunning view of the setting moon over The Ridge just as the sun was planning to rise in the opposite direction. We stroll carefully along the length of the Ridge and take in the views of the stunning mountains lightly illuminated by the rays of the Sun that remains hidden behind the hills to our east.
The melodious chirping of birds and some of the other rare mornings sounds are our constant companion all along this morning since we started this walk. We wait for the sun to rise and once we realize there is no more of the sun to rise we decide to walk around and try to find a place for us to eat a hot bnreakfast.
Thankfully, we find a place open this early in the morning right off The Mall. Here, we order hot Aloo Paranthas and a hot hot Indian Chai. As we wait for our order we enjoy the views of a Shimla morning just getting started, as people try to find some warmth and a hot meal at this small but cozy roadside restaurant. Roadside restaurant is an interesting term though. After all, arent all restaurants located at the side of some road or the other.
Anyways, we absolutely enjoy the sights and flavors of our breakfast at this cozy roadside restaurant and soon step out into the now warmer morning once again. We witness brighter and clear views of the Ridge and the surrounding mountains now and we see a Sunday morning just getting started as people go about their Sunday things. The video, or I should say, the audio for this one, ends somewhere on the Jakhu Hill in the middle of our ascent back to our Hotel. This was our last sunrise in Shimla, for this trip I mean. And we had an amazing experience.
