It got to be more than 5000 years civilization. Others who claim to 5k only have a wheel and barrel to show for it.
@Jonipoon Жыл бұрын
Why is that relevant? Egypt is a 7000 year old civilization. Greece is a 3000 year old civilization. Numbers means nothing, what matters is how the world looks like today and how we reached the present. Your comment is just another form of childish wolf warrior mentality plaguing China these days. The sentence "China has 5000 years of history" is often used as an argument by Chinese nationalists to mock countries like the United States whose modern history only goes back to around the 1700s. China suffers from an immense inferiority complex, which is why they always need to compare themselves with the West and prove that they are "better". It's pathetic and it's propaganda. China still has a long way to go before it can call itself a modern country. It's still very much a developing country and suffers from poverty in the rural areas and has huge problems with its social welfare and security. I'm a Swedish guy who lived in China for 5 years before so I've seen it with my own eyes.

I love how the Chinese government is investing a lot of money in preserving and recreating their ancient traditional rich architecture for everyone to admire. China today is undergoing a huge transformation in moving quickly into the future. I am equally impressed that Chinese culture is witnessing a renaissance, rebirth and explosion of ideas in all art forms.

the parts of culture that don't challenge the CCP yes, this is something fundamental people need to understand. The CCP erased the part of Chinese history which they don't like

@@karlbooklover You describe well what is happenining in the west right now. Woke movement, cancel culture etc. If you really love books so much, than you must worry that right now even childrens books are rewritten in the west to censor content. It is really sad. To get an education about the real picture of China, this channel is the very best choice. I live in Germany and ask myself over and over again why the mainstream press always reports so negatively about China. The Communist Party in China is in my eyes a holding company, the provinces are subsidiaries and the localities are branches. The party comrades are really just CEOs whose success is measured by the well-being of the economy and the population. This model works.The party comrades are really just general managers whose success is measured by the welfare of the economy and the people. This model works. The Western model of democracy and freedom, on the other hand, produces much war, much poverty and misery. As an old (88) journalist of the old school, I must be permanently ashamed of those people who call themselves journalists.

It was a tiny abandoned village. They had old quarry mines that started to fail in the early 2000s. Then the village, surrounding areas and ppl with lots of funds decided to invest in tourism using the natural beauty. A modern success story of sorts. I hope it's sustainable thou. It's beautiful but slightly over commercialized. The laser lights were a bit much, taking away from the natural beauty.

I get it's not practical to have the country with its massive population and diversity of jobs be mostly like this but wish there was a lot more of this than the the latter.
