Walker Bay Gansbaai - 4x4 sand driving, ocean view, family fun, beach driving.

Be sure to bring cash for payment at the gate, there are not card machine facilities. For those who like to do fishing, remember your required permits as well.
This location offers so much more than simply 4x4, fishing, picnic, beach driving, cave formations or whale watching. It is an experience all together taking in the epic ocean view & waves crushing noise while discovering all the lookout points by means of 4x4 ONLY sand driving mostly.
This is one of very few places in South Africa where you can experience beach driving, something we did not know is locally available so close to Cape Town.
Be sure to plan your day, attempt the drive to Sopiesklip & back during low tide & do the caves walk / visit during high tide, not to get cut off by the ocean on your way to or back from Sopiesklip.
This is definitely a return visit for us, even multiple times if possible.

Scenery factor - 10/10 (Nothing beats an ocean view less than 50 metres away from where you are driving right!)

It catches you off guard on the way back on that little hill, we simply didn't had enough speed going up and then spun in on our third attempt. Thank you for the comment, we try and share as we discover. ;)

Hoe behandel daai Renegades hul self, ek is ook in die mark vir bande en die Renegade RT+ lyk vir my na n baie goeie band teen n baie goeie prys. Ons ry gereeld slegte 4x4 routes so hoop hulle is darem redelik bestand teen punctures

Hi Riaan, ons het nog nie 'extreme' off road paaie gery om regtig te kan se hoe bestand hulle is nie, maar hulle bied beslis meer rubber vir die pad as die AT bande wat ons op gehad het. Op hierdie stadium sal ek maklik weer so stel aankoop wanneer die tyd sou kom, geniet hulle vreeslik sover. Ja, goeie produk teen 'n billike prys en die mense (Radar Renegade) ondersteun borskanker ook met hulle fondse, so jy ondersteun 'n goeie doel ook indien jy sou bande aankoop van hulle. Ons behoort 'n reviewed apdate te doen op die bande hopelik vroër as later. Dankie vir die volg. :)

Jis sê my hoe klink die bakkie as julle ver pad ry is hy sag of het hy die lekker klank wat hy het as hy off road ry wil net weet voor ek so uitlaatpyp op sit, maar anders ek like die videos dis baie goed gedoen 👍💪

Thanks, ons probeer maar met die site visit videos. :) Lang pad ry is nie lastig on jou ore nie, jy hoor die dieper dreun wat die bakkie het, maar dit is nie n irriterende klank nie. Die wind geraas is meeste van die tyd meer as die exhaust se geraas, indien dit sin maak? Hou net ten minste een silencer box op die system, ons bakkie sin in so klein box, lyk soos n free flow tipe box. Gaan loer op die Hilux walk around video, daar is so stukkie van die exhaust in ook.

Hi Damian, yes it is breathtaking at Walker Bay. You enter from Gansbaai side of the bay, not Hermanus / Botrivier as google MAPS tends to direct you to. Hope it helps.
