Ohhh, thank you for letting us hear the kiddo's sing! So many channels don't because of losing monetization on the video. It was so nice to see them all dressed up and hear them singing!! I love you family. This ole Grandma misses the days her kids and grands were these ages.

They were beautifully raised steer and i totally get why you raise your own beef. After hearing the recalls on millions of pounds of burger, or thousands of cows dieing in processing plant, it only makes sense. You know they lived a good life, ate well, no hormones,no diseases. Happy cows.

I could not do it because I would get too attached to them, so I have so much respect for you! Your children's school Christmas show gave me goosebumps and was such a precious blessing for me.....a much needed blessing during such a tough time of year for us. Thank you so much for sharing it! For those of you who don't like to know about them taking the animals to the processor, they are sharing this is just pointing out that they know how well the animals been cared for and not fed a bunch of bad food, chemicals, antibiotics and hormones. Not everyone can do this so we have to "trust" in the stores. I go to the local butcher to buy my meat but thats still not a guarantee that the animal has been well cared for, not abused, or fed good clean food. Look up videos of cattle who live in feed lots, see the conditions they live in before going to the processor. It might make you sick and turn you off eating beef from the grocery stores. It's just so much easier to go buy meat from the grocers so you dont have to think about where it came from or how the animal lived or was treated. I only wish I was able to live the way the Walkers do.

My dad raised our own beef, goats, rabbits, and chickens, and I must say it was yummy, and we spoiled them all with love and food. My dad taught us these animals were giving their lives that we may survive and we must treat them with love until they are taken to the butcher. We butchered our own rabbits and chickens, and we butchered one goat, buy dad decided it was just easier to send them to the butcher. Nothing wrong with America has done this to avoid paying such high prices for our meat, we raised our own vegetables and canned them for winter. This is how we survived. The meat was so tender you could cut it with a butter knife, the t-bones, rib eyes, and porterhouse cuts were beyond tasty. They were so much better than storebought, every year he would buy a calf from a diary farm, sometimes we bought holstein calfs and sometime we bought Angus, or Angus holsters mix. We brought the home and bottle fed them we loved on them. They were very tame. I am the one in charge of bottle feedings. When you live on a working farm, this is what you do. You put food on the table so good and so much better than the store bought.

Rolling out the hay bales also ensures the lower on the pecking order animals get to eat their fill also, without having to wait for the higher ups to eat first. Do whatever works for you, there is waste even with the round bale feeders. Loved seeing the Christmas program, they all did a great job, Mazzie you sang beautifully.

Wow your gonna have about 1,000 lbs of hanging weight beef. That’s awesome and a Lot of beef! My dad always butchers us a calf/steer once a year. He has about 150 head of cattle. Love farm life!! A porter house is one big steak but you can take one side it’s a strip steak and the other is a filet mignon! Same as the T- bone but it’s much smaller.
