I use things that only last long. I have a pair of boots that are 20+ years old, my phone left after 8 years, my laptop after 12 years, and my bike after 7+ years. I buy only good second hand things. My fashion is my body not my clothes..

Please make a video of how/where you acquired materials - especially how they were sewn & what you used for that, how you made a possible pattern for best fit, assembling, and now that you've put so many miles into them how you might improve your next pair. Absolutely genius!

Hi Robin, Have you heard of Jainism (Jain religion)? Jain monks live somewhat similar life to what you’re currently doing. It’s very common and huge in gujarat, India.

So cool you made those shoes yourself Rob….I love it! Plus the fact that the leather soul keeps you grounded is awesome! Free energy from the earth with every step you take 🦶🏼 🦶🏼
@oscarsh29092 ай бұрын
Are you sure though? Is Leather (dead skin) really an electrical conductor? I’d love to know if it is because I’d want those shoes. But I’d also imagine that any preparation of the leather would impact the performance.
@RawJessy2 ай бұрын
@@oscarsh2909 As far as I know it works…especially on damp or wet ground to get the hide some moisture to help with conductivity. What you said about the dry leather being a poor conductor of electricity is correct, so barefoot is definitely a much better/reliable way to be grounded, but I think the leather bottoms still work to a much lesser extent!

I like your shoe design. What do you think about repurposing synthetic material from an old yoga mat or even old bike tires to resole shoes? A lot of this material ends up in landfills, but are still very durable.

Robin, why the need to commodify sentient beings? Would you wear shoes made from dog or cat skin? If you really love the earth and all its inhabitants so much, why would you eat or wear anything taken from a sentient being? Just be consistent.
@AmandaCan2 ай бұрын
Thank you for commenting. The animal is already dead when he finds it, and then respectfully harvests. We are all one with earth. Peace with you.
@tofudoesntscream2 ай бұрын
@@AmandaCan And how did those animals die? I highly doubt the cow, sheep, and deer all lived their natural lives and died of old age. In the leather (skin) and wool industries, they are not byproducts of something else; those animals are raised for those end products, and as such, they live in captivity and their lives are cut tragically short. Even if the animals died of completely natural causes/old age, in using animal parts in any capacity, one is commodifying said animals and reducing them to a product. Would you wear the skin of a dog or cat, or another human animal? Stop justifying animal exploitation; animals are not clothing (or anything else for humans).
@juttbreeze83642 ай бұрын
@tofuneverbleeds typed from your phone or pc made by literal slaves. Why commodify the earth, the dirt we walk upon, when we turn it into a garden to grow crops. Why steal the bounty meant for the insect or bird? Why not just meditate until the ultimate enlightenment is reached and there is no need for food, nor drink, nor clothing
