Algarrobo is a coastal town in the region of Valparaíso and is considered the nautical capital of Chile. In summer it is one of the favorite beaches of the Central Coast.
Algarrobo has calm waters that allow aquatic activities and swimming. It´s a beach that combines the sea and the country landscape so you can have a relaxing time by the coast and be surrounded by the city's comforts at the same time. There´s a city with some commerce and tourist investment.
Mediterranean weather. There is cloudiness in the shore all year long and the temperature is homogeneous. The annual media precipitations are 450 milimeters during winter time. In the interior, the rain reaches 250 milimiters per year.

Hello from Sydney. I grew up in the North part of Algarrobo, I was from Santiago but my parents had a beach house, so free holidays for 2 months in Summer. I feel conflicted though, over 30 years have gone by and virtually nothing has changed. If anything has changed is the climate and how areas we used to sun bathe are now covered by the ocean. I went back in 2018 and found that Algarrobo still doesn't have alternative roads and the Summer gridlocks rule from around 10 am until midnight. There is no escape, no secondary road even after 30 years

Hi Pachi, yes, sadly there is no much improve and every year it's even worst, the traffic specially during summer is a total mess, sometimes you can take more than an hour to get a place where usually without traffic you can go by 15 min. I guess is related with the urban planning, here you can have every year a new project building but no one think about the access, traffic, parking, green areas, etc. I hope this change in some point.
