Take a walk through BC's ancient, globally unique Inland Temperate Rainforest with veteran conservationist Craig Pettitt of the Valhalla Wilderness Society. These forests and the mountain caribou they support are endangered by clearcut logging, which continues despite the urging of a recent provincial commission to protect what remains of our old growth. Pettitt describes Valhalla's thoughtful plan to do just that, through the formation of three new provincial parks which would link up with existing protected areas to create intact wildlife corridors and ecological connectivity. Learn how you can take action now to save the Inland Temperate Rainforest and mountain caribou at VWS.org

We know the government won't do the right thing but it also looks like the people don't care either, Eight hundred people watched this video and did not give it the LIKE it truly deserves, Come On People, wtf. I wish I could hit the button 800 times, this needs to be spread far and wide. Thank You Craig and VWS for your hard work and love for Mother Earth and this excellent video. Peace.

Thank you for your support! You are right that we need more voices than we currently have advocating for protection of our remaining wilderness.

It's nice just to leave comments here to maybe boost this video up in the algorithm, so more people notice this as it's such a huge thing that a huge amount of people don't even know about. Everything in this video was explained perfectly, and with passion, and it's so sad that the majority of people are unaware of this.

I don't believe it, a couple hours after I wrote the comment below, I see this on Instagram " News Release in Victoria, 75000 hectares of Incomappleux River Valley protected from logging " Wow, can you believe it. Congratulations Craig and VWS. And Thank You BC NDP (can't believe I'm saying this :) Lol

Thank you from all of us. This is a positive step but the rest of the Selkirk Mountain Caribou Park proposal is still slated for logging, and some of it is currently being logged.

I do hope these magnificent forests are preserved instead of being destroyed by clear cutting.

Get ready to write letters, attend Conferences, write letters, show concern, unfortunately this Logging is edging on the life of the forest, a complex of Functional, Old growth or Ancient Forests, that offer niches for canopy dwelling Flora and Fauna, with many Species needing protection and conservation of Stands which last through most wildfires, opening gaps or meadows often were maintaining Forest diversity, Decadence, the forest floor is the storage of water, leading primary production of Mushrooms, primary production, ecological systems that facilitate long-term Forest Functions. Bigger animals need multiple habitats to survive the yearly passage of feeding, sheltering, breeding, and territorial needs of more Keystone Species that range in their territories to fulfill their needs. These Mountain Caribou are unique Species that again border Canada and need both Countries to realize the importance of remnant Stands of mature forests to grow and mature into the forests of tomorrow. As we better understand the broader web of life, we continue to find those Species making it possible to evolve within this complex of Natural Habitats and Critical Land issues Decisions for better Adapted Managing broader spectrums or Series of Indigenous Species Conservation es to align the working relationships of broader Ecosystems in general.

Absolutely ridiculous that they're cutting old growth anywhere in North America still.
