I grew up near the sea, but have been landlocked of late. There's a kind of beauty to towns like Dawlish on these stormy days. I wish I lived there now.

Spectacular and wonderful, please keep making these in this exact style! No music, bare minimum chat, and lots of seascapes.

It is possible my ancestors stood on a beach in this area and watched a storm centuries ago. The Cornwall side of the Family was probably near here and the Wolcott side was from Taunton just North of Dawlish. It makes me think that my DNA was in the area which gives me great interest. I wish I could see a lot more of the nearby areas. Thanks for what you show.

Wow never seen a storm this bad when visiting Dawlish. Heard about them however. You can see why the new sea wall has needed to go in. Your very brave.

Had to look it up. Per Wikipedia: Sea foam, ocean foam, beach foam, or spume is a type of foam created by the agitation of seawater, particularly when it contains higher concentrations of dissolved organic matter derived from sources such as the offshore breakdown of algal blooms. These compounds can act as surfactants or foaming agents.

Great video , could sit and watch a rough sea all day .Those poor cars with the saltwater spraying over them reminds me not to buy a car from anyone living in Dawlish haha . I alway thought that white foam was whale jiz . 🤭👍

Hope you receive this question; has the mean sea level changed at Dawlish over last 50 years?
@CoastCams2473 жыл бұрын
I believe it has. But the sea are definitely rougher during storms.
@MonstaTrapz3 жыл бұрын
Nope. Barring spring tides, they're the same levels.

@@drdoolittle5724 I know... I've lived here for 37 years and have been on the water since age 8 every chance possible. Surfing, swimming, kayaking, skimboarding, boating and jet skiing. High tide and low tide are at the same mark they were 30 years ago.

1 question...what do you film with?
@HeartlandTuber3 жыл бұрын
At least the water was liquid. We have had snow on the ground for the whole month of February, most recent storm dumped about 8 - 10 inches. Today was first day to get more than one degree above freezing for weeks. Felt like a heat wave on our deck.
