Hi Rosie thanks for sharing this beautiful video of villa franca. The ice cream 🍦 there is so delicious, I had it when we visited Sao Miguel 8 years ago. Sao Miguel is a beautiful island 🏝️. We immigrated to Canada in 1964, I was 6 years old. Lol😂.🙏😘

@@lifewithrosie03 yes my dear I visit vila franca. I was there last year and 2 years ago for 6 weeks. I was 6 years old when I came to Canada and have been living here for 60 years. You speak perfect English you said you were 11 when you went to Sao Miguel where were you before going there.

Thanks for posting , such a beautiful island …. My family all came to the states from ponta Delgada (sao Pedro) . I’m first generation American …. I’ve been there twice and it always feel like home out there , I’m currently looking at homes in sao miguel…. Can’t wait to make the move back to my roots

I spent many summers in Vila Franca do Campo during my childhood. I remember before they built the white building you see at 4:51, you had a beautiful view of the islet from the cantina. I still remember the taste of the hamburgers from that place... Thank you for this video!

Hi Rosie, thanks for the nice videos. Maybe you could make a video about the local schools out there. I am visiting the island this summer with my family. We have two kids 9 and 7 years old and considering a move to Sao Miguel. Of course school is very important. Would be nice to find out more about that. Also my son would like to know if there is a place where he can play soccer.😊

We have so many schools! Usually the child is put at a school which is closest to their house. I only really have experience in highschool here. I was in Canada up to the 8th grade. But every school is similar when it comes to elementary. And yes there is lots of soccer teams ⚽ soccer is the biggest sport here in Portugal. So there are many teams. There is a school called fundação Pauleta and there are teams of all age groups. It's in ponta delgada. There is a website on it, if you look up Fundação Pauleta on Google, you'll find it and there is a lot of information there. Thanks so much for the support!

Hello Lucy! It's incredible how many people moved away to Canada and the united states, 20-50 years ago. All in search of a better life. Now a days it's a lot easier to live on this island. My mom used to tell me stories of how poor this Island was. My parents did the same actually. They moved to Canada around 1997. I was raised in Canada until I turned 13. I miss Canada very very much. Hi Rosie thank you so much for showing this beautiful video of my place of birth thank you for showing me places that I really don’t know that big church I was baptized there I think it’s called Matis i’ve been in San Miguel many times but it’s always on the layover sometimes we have a few hours in between so we go to Ponta Delgada for lunch then back to the airport to catch Our connecting flight to Terceira that’s where we go most of the time my husband is from Terceira we did owned property in Terceira in 2001 we went to Villafranca and we were there for a few hours but it was not enough to get to know the town because I left when I was very young don’t really know very much of Villafranca thank so much Rosie ❤️

Hi! You should plan to come here for a week at least! So much has changed over the years but there's so much to do in the summer here ❤️ not to mention the beautiful scenery! I spent a month in Terceira last work but I only got to know Praia da Vitória because I was there for work.
