This one Blew me away .Took me back to the 70s & early 80’s when my family went to The top and flew our kites.somewhere up there is an Eagle kite which took of and was never seen again. Keep these videos coming.

Glad u liked the video Vince. I did not see your kite 😊 back in the 70’s & 80’s the old railway track would have still been down. I can remember climbing through a fence and nipping across it in case anything came along the track. Looks very different now. Shame really. Stay tuned for the next one. It’s will be out in the next week 👍🏻

I think it was actually the Bulls Eye, but it sounded better calling it the bulls head from a distance it looked like a big eyeball and yes, those are crab apples

Very good video. Looks like some fur lined wellies would be a good idea at this time of year. Didn’t know what the apple looking fruit was, but the Blows Downs looks a good place to fly a kite. In summer I mean. Looks a good place for a picnic. Also in summer of course. Really interesting commentary. Well done Gavin. 👍👍

Hi Edna. Thanks for your comment. It was a bit muddy and very slippery up the Bulls Head. I thought it was strange how the little Apple bounced as well 🤣 definitely a nice place for a walk with great views and a picnic in the summer. New content on its way very soon. Stay tuned hope you enjoy 👍🏻👍🏻

Thanks Ray. Glad you like the video. Such a shame as a kid I did not take any photos. Did not expect the area to change so much. Who would I suppose. Hopefully have some more videos soon that you may enjoy 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Great video we moved to the area a couple of months. Your videos have been great to get a better understanding on what we can explore in the area. where would be the best place to start the blows from please ?
@gepxplore97102 жыл бұрын
Thanks Yendell’s. Glad you found the video useful. You can access Blows downs quite easily from behind big Tesco’s by the Skimpot round about, or by the Sainsburys in Dunstable you can get up unto the guided busway should be easy to work out from there. Enjoy your walks up there. Can be windy but very peaceful. A lot of people use the footpath to walk, cycle, run to Luton along the busway. Stay tuned, more videos coming soon 👍👍👍👟👟👟🚶🏻🚶🏻🚶🏻

Hi! The lore and history of the place you explained is something I haven't heard before, have you got any sources where I can read more about it? Thanks!
@gepxplore9710 Жыл бұрын
Hi ppbacik. Thanks for your comment. Blows downs is one where I had to search and search for info. Then bits of information started to come to light. I found a lot of interesting material in journeys like this one in the link below and then just put it altogether dunstablehistory.co.uk/Newsletters/Newsletter43.pdf

Brilliant! Thanks a lot for the reference.

Once you start digging for info it starts to get really fascinating. There are few archaeological books published as well about the history of Dunstable that shed some excellent info on the Totternhoe Roman Villa as well as the digs that happened in Dunstable. Some brilliant work about the history of the priory too. The whole place is just so interesting and full of amazing history.
