Some of my most exciting walks are in Manila Philippines. This is my second time on Blumentritt Road in Manila Philippines. The area is known for its huge market and large crowds. I grew up here as a child and remember my grandma taking me to the Palenque, this walk gave me forgotten childhood flashbacks

Same! My family lived across the palengke before Iglesia ni Cristo bought out our house and was forced to leave. I lived in Blumentrit until I was 5yrs old. I remember we would walk around the palengke with my Lolo and Lola. That was 31years ago, and I hope someday I will have a chance to bring my family and show them where I started. It’s 12:20am here in California and I woke up in the middle of the night because the word blumentrit keeps popping in my mind.
