Man, I hope these 5 minute podcasts go on for a long time. Even if they do include stories from the book, they are just way more entertaining with Deryck telling them

Deryck, can you some day talk about how the song "Always" came to be? It's the one song that's always fascinated me the most, it's so different from the Sum 41 catalogue yet so perfectly Sum 41, was it a song you guys were not completely sold on? Or a song you loved and wanted to include in the greatest hits? I feel like it never gets talked about and I can't really find any info on it. Thanks and keep it up!
@WSandig7 ай бұрын
why can't I find it on any streaming service tho?
@WhiteWolfTechGaming7 ай бұрын
@@WSandig I've come to surmise that anytime a song from any artist is unavailable on streaming services, or has been removed, is due to some bs legal matter with the label.
@mr.goodriddance7 ай бұрын
@@WSandig it was part of 8 Years of Blood, Sake and Tears which is the Japanese version of their All the Good Shit: 14 Solid Gold Hits compilation. Not sure if people in Japan can find it on Spotify, but the 14 Solid Gold Hits version in my country has a bonus track of The Hell Song live instead

@41illusion7 ай бұрын
"We would just move onto the next city and go and break that city." That's exactly what I always heard whenever Sum 41 rolled into town: they ALWAYS partied harder than most artists at the time and caused chaos wherever they went hahahaha those old shows were absolutely insane along with the wild as fuck crowds

It worked. I'm pre-ordering the book based on these stories. I loved (and hated!) reading through Motley Crue's "The Dirt" so I think it'll be interesting to read the punk rock side of that life!

I remember going to warped tour with them on the lineup right after I got back from deployment, didn't even have time to get back to base but have civies packed so went to see them live with my friend who picked me up, didn't have anything for them to sign so I got them to sign foreign money I had with me 😂
