I live very close to Alton and it's a really pretty town with a lot of the original Georgian architecture still making up the majority of the buildings in the town centre. It's also a good place to stay to visit the other places of interest nearby, notably Chawton where Jane Austen grew up and where you can visit her family home.

@@littlehappytravels I'm sure you'll find it interesting and of course if you head on to Winchester you'll find another house where she lived in College St near to the Cathedral and Winchester College but this house is private, so you can't go inside. You can go inside the Cathedral though where you will find a plaque on the wall close to her burial place. Thanks to you too for making such a lovely video.

They get a bit wearing if you live here, blue skies are most welcome ..... when we get them 😂 Interesting fact .... Here in the UK we wish someone good luck by saying "may you have nothing but blue skies" but the Berbers (I believe) have a similar but opposite saying of "may you have nothing but cloudy skies" ... tells you a lot about the difference in climates.
