First impressions of the City is filled of plants 🪴 and trees 🌳 apart from street arts at some of the alleys...the full-sized human characters displayed at certain intersections are equally charming and reflective of the city's way of life. Thanks AK for showing us this part of your journey in Colorado...truly blessed 🙌 😂🎉

visited a few times but often its too far away for regular visits for me unfortunately. i did work there for about 6 months as well. been contemplating whether its a city i want to move to or not and it looks like an amazing city. It has that small town feel despite being the second biggest city in Colorado. It surprisingly gives a safe feeling during the day though, not so sure about night as typically when i was there late at night everything was closing up for the night and i was getting ready to leave as i did not live in the city at the time. maybe one day i might consider it on a more permanent basis, but i would be concerned about the cost of living. while cheaper than denver it's still gotten quite expensive like many other places and most jobs I would qualify out there won't pay as much as they do closer to denver.

@TheFhqwhgadsLimit
@TheFhqwhgadsLimit Жыл бұрын
@@Money0120 I'm a 35 year old Colorado Springs native. If you are comparing to any large million+ population city, there are really no "bad" areas. Downtown is actually probably one of the "safest" areas that is not just suburbia. Most of the poverty and crime is concentrated around the southeast, between the southern end of downtown until you get to the super wealthy Broadmoor area further south, and extending east to about Powers Blvd. And really most crime is not anything that will affect you as a visitor - even the most extreme gang type crime is interpersonal stuff that isn't going to affect you as someone not living in that environment, and not in areas you are likely to visit anyways. I would say your best time will be spent around Downtown, Old Colorado City, and Manitou Springs. These are beautiful areas full of history and things to do and so many friendly people. I hope you enjoy Colorado Springs.

I'm not sure how you ended up in my feed. I recently watched a video about San Francisco and saw how much was closed down. I'm disappointed, as I thought about visiting there eventually. I'm from the Denver area. I don't make it downtown often and couldn't walk nearly as fast as you do now, due to health issues. There are a lot of homeless here, especially compared to what there used to be. Often when people say Denver, they include the cities nearby. Anyway, interesting video for me. Almost like traveling back in time. I worked on the brickwork on the building on Blake, next to where the 1-up arcade is now. That was about 20 years ago. Anyway, nice video. Thanks.

In a couple of weeks, I will, once again, be answering the call for jury duty, and therefore walking the walk from the downtown bus terminal to the justice center, which is featured in this video. It's always a nice walk, and makes jury duty a little bit less of a bummer. Downtown Colorado Springs is a really nice downtown. One of the best, for sure.

As a Colorado Springs native... yes and no. There is a large conservative population - big thanks to the multiple military bases in the city. But most of the Springs conservatives are the "libertarian" sort who are more about letting people live the way they want without the government saying anything than the "in your face" authoritarian variety. And the downtown, Old Colorado City, and Manitou areas are full of progressives who are very open about their progressivism without any fight.
