I've been to Egypt. It was not pleasant experience. Museums were top notch, but people on the street are unapologetically rude, especially to tourists. Every cab you get into, and every attraction you visit, people will try to con you. If you must go to Egypt, go on a guided tour with a reputable tour agency. The resort, where we stayed on the Red Sea, the last few days of the trip, was very nice. If you want to see antiquities, Cypress, Greece, Italy, Jordan all have a lot to offer. My personal favorite was India, where we were with a tour group. I wish we had more time there. The landscape is amazing, and it's the cradle of civilization.

Thanks for keeping it green! The modern desert environment seems to have been caused by flocks overgrazing--something no monarch would have allowed, or the nomadic Bedouin shepherds who had a rotational grazing system for their flocks, evidently by treaties between their sheiks until the 1950s. Although that was in Saudi Arabia, I suspect the same practices were in place in Egypt. The tall palms and other trees represented in Egypt's statuary, IMO, probably REVEAL the ancient, forested landscape more than they would have CONTRASTED with it as now seems the case. How cool it would be to see that in real life today!

How did the Egyptians deal with mice infestations? No wonder they worshipped cats and mummified them even. I like the rendition of administrative facilities except that I imagine row upon row of desks/seats of accountants/book keepers, bench seating for clients wanting to be paid, people waiting etc. Egypt must have been abundantly fertile with produce that was exported everywhere across the Mediterranean. I would have liked to see more of the colour Azure, since they were abundant with azurite as much as they were with malachite and turquoise. In fact I see azurite as Egypts identity colour. Clear blue skies and flat horizons. Much more drapery since they made lotus silk that was cool and provided shade. And lotus silk absorbs dye very well. The ancient world was enlightened before the world was plunged into a dark age. I enjoyed this video very much. Thank you.
This is truly an amazing insight as to what life might have been like but I don't think as quiet & calm as depicted...
