Same. I live in the Steenstraat in Arnhem and always picture the battle in 1944 in my head... Now i know every building that was or wasn't here anymore due to the fights. I even played the game called 'Post Scriptum' what even more makes it real. Tip when you visited Arnhem is to firt read the book 'It never snows in September' and check the old photo's and compare them with Arnhem now.

When I went to the Netherlands for the first time, I found the town's and cities to be really quiet and calm, it was great. I am most likely going to live there this year because I could be going back for essential travel

They are pretty quiet despite having a very high population density, especially in west-nl

Hello Thomas and thank you again for the videos. I stayed Queensday weekend in Arnhem at the Best Western hotel in 2010 when the work was at an early stage. Obviously finished now and looks quite spectacular and i remember the round construction at 1.00 minute in was surrounded by only dirt and machinery then. What is that exactly? Is that part of the station or leads to underground shops? Peace.

That building is the 'Huis der Provincie'. The house, residence, of the government of the province of Gelderland. The place where I used to work for 39 years!

It's in regards to the pandemic. Government buildings put up posters and uplifting messages for people working in essential jobs instead of paying them extra for their immense efforts.
