You can't get lost just walk down hill. The ocean isn't far away. If you walk to the ocean you eventually get to bay road than runs along the ocean.

I spent a week there in a local "hotel". I walked all around the city. The people were friendly but as you can see you need to watch your step as the sidewalks are not well maintained and are sometimes very narrow. The speed limit in the city is 20mph. The cars go much faster. Notice the chickens running loose. I wondered how many could afford the cars. Gas cost about $6.75/gal but you don't need to go far. The island isn't that big. Nevis is smaller. I stayed by the ocean. Every day the kids would swim in the ocean. I didn't see any big stores. There are lots of small bars by the ferry / bus terminal. They play load music. The churches were closed when I was there. So were the museums. Too many cars and no place to park them! I would have expected to see hundreds of 125cc motor scooters like in Taiwan. I didn''t think to record most of my walking.

Lovely videos! Helpful suggestion, maybe it’s possible when you come to a new intersection or street to show the name? (Perhaps not because I kept looking for street signs and only saw traffic signs). But thank you, this is super helpful!
@onthegotravel Жыл бұрын
I was telling someone else also that sometimes the street sign wasn't available, but I will definitely try and do that in my future videos.
@pnachtwey Жыл бұрын
There are few street signs. I took a screen shot of a city map and used that for navigating at first. I did see one on this video but I couldn't see what was written. I knew were the videoer was most of the time.

@@onthegotravel its not that they cant see you, its that of you’re not paying attention you can easily get scraped off the road. Drivers in the Caribbean do not always agree that pedestrians have the right of way. You almost got hit at the top of Fort Street. Just a word of caution.
