Ich habe vor langer Zeit in der Goldbergstraße gewohnt, in der Nähe meines Eingangs war eine braune Zigarrenmaschine und ein Laden mit Zaubertricks. An der Ecke, Richtung Hauptstraße, war ein Hähnchenbraten, ich glaube, er hieß "Koki", und genau dort war der Woolworth-Laden. Nicht weit davon, Ecke Bergstraße, war ein Tabakladen und ein Lottoladen, wo ich dienstags mein Glück versuchte. Die Leute sind wunderbar, freundlich und die Stadt selbst sah aus wie ein großer Park. Ich bin später fast bis ans Ende der Hochstraße gezogen, aber es gefiel mir nicht besonders. Am Wochenende bin ich oft alleine an der nahe gelegenen Bergpromenade spazieren gegangen, danach sahen Bockwurst und Pommes unendlich lecker aus. Und jetzt bereue ich diese Tage. Äh, wenn ich damals diesen Verstand gehabt hätte ...

At one time Hagen was a beautiful, thriving city. Nowadays the city is boring, trash all over the side walks and streets...grass and weeds are overgrown, the roads are badly damaged. Pot holes all over the streets...roads are uneven. When I lived in Hagen they tax you to death when you own two dogs..4 two dogs, I paid 420 €uro per year in dog tax. It is like the local Government punishes you for owning more than one large dog. The city of Hagen in boring...nothing to do there. Glad I moved away from there years ago!
