I grew up close by too. The newt pond has a fence around it now but more or less exactly the same

An area I'm familiar with as I lived around there for many years , unfortunately Haverhill will never anything more than what it is . I moved abroad 5 years ago , when I visit my old town nothing has changed , maybe more fast food and charity shops but thats about it .

I grew up in Haverhill, but moved abroad a little over a decade ago. I remember every night as a teenager I'd just go for an hour long walk to clear my head. Finding this video, and having it start right by my former house, so cover all the same routes I used to walk - brings back so many good memories. It's really cool to see what changed and what stayed the same in the last 12 years. Thank you for posting this!

Just out of interest you said the video started right by your former house. Were you the house at the top of the slope that always used to have a large christmas decoration on the side of your house which becausr it was up the slope you could always see when going to and from sainsburies?

​@@Jack-sd3hh By right by, I meant it was really close, but not exactly right next to, I lived a couple streets to the left of the top of the slope. Basically sandwiched right about in the middle between that slope and the other road (that I believe now has a roundabout at the bottom?) going up towards Parkway school (assuming it's still there) from the road by the bottom of Sainsbury's.

@@JesusGreenBL thats very interesting. I know the road well and walk along it most days. Parkway school is still there and looks the same from the outside but its no longer called parkway and isnt used as a school, more of a community hub now. How long since you were last in HH just out of interest? I always have fond memories of the christmas decoration the house at the top of that slope used to have

@@Jack-sd3hh It was all the way back in March 2010 when I was last there. So I imagine a lot else has changed in that time. During the years I lived there it changed a ton, when I first moved there as a little kid in the 90s the whole area by Sainsbury's was still just a big empty field.

Last Year's July and beginning of August had been up in the high 30s.
