I hear that Thailand tourism slowed down significantly. This video is from 2019 and you see it's lively at the nightmarket that day. Depending on what you like - many people (Bangkok) or fewer (Hua Hin) they are pretty close to each other. Thailand may have become a bit too expensive itself during the last year(s) so other SEAsian countries will see more tourists probably

Spent a week here last month, its dead. No soul ,Nothing happening. Windy a lot of the time. Food not great. No airport to speak of, so a long taxi,bus or train outta it. The seven kings monument was ok, so many soi dogs, had a couple of close ones with them, they are quite lively. Won't be going back. Ever.
@poptravelorg5 жыл бұрын
Interesting. I read that tourism in Thailand was slowing down a lot this year also due to the strong THB. Was the area around the Hilton (where this walk starts) also empty? In 2019 it was also quieter than the years before though it was off season (May). You see in the video that it's still just busy enough. December / January should be high season...

Video doesnt show how poluted the city really is. Look online for air quality apps. And the sea is poluted by sewage dump from the hotels along the beach.

Is the water quality bad around the Hilton or more south? I found May too hot for me there. Up until March / April on previous trips it was pleasant with good air actually. The water seemed also cleaner than in Phuket
