Bedankt voor dit filmpje, I loved it.

My mother was adopted here in the States but we have more information about her blood line going back 8 generations and the family is originally from this city. The name is Kokke. Gerard Kokke is the first listed by in 1733. I want to come visit and find my family!

Helemaal geweldige video.

Nijmegen is a city of endurance. It’s the oldest city of the Netherlands. It was established by the Romans and quickly became a big city. It was the capital of the holy roman empire and Charlemagne livid here. It was plundered by the Vikings and attacked/burned by Mauritz van Oranje, in the end of the 19th century Nijmegen still had walls and was not aloud to build outside of them due to defensief reasons! One of the Neighborhoods counted 22.000 people and only 2370 houses. The city was “accidentally” bombed in 1944 by US bombers wich took the lives of 800 Nijmegenaren and ruined the biggest part of the city center and train station. It was rebuilt in the 1950s and grew even faster then before the war. It was the green capital city of 2018! And now we are doing fine.

I appreciate the thought but you have put no work in this at all! This project could have been sooo much more interesting. This is a city that was established by the Romans! It was a major city for Charlemagne! So many ruins and city walls are still in great shape. No commentary at all??? No editing for the slowest and totally uninteresting sections? You tape it in the worst season when this city comes alive at Carnaval and world-famous De Vierdaagse? Dude, delete this and start over! By the way, I was born and raised in this fantastic city.
@wanderingthomas4 жыл бұрын
Well, thanks for the comment. Not everyone wants a heavely edited travel video or history lesson. There are plenty of those. The no commentary and almost no editing is exactly the purpose of this channel/video. You don't like walking video's, that's ok.
@Antoine-sb5zv4 жыл бұрын
@@wanderingthomas You're missing the point. There's so much to be said and shown that it's insulting to walk through a city like this without doing so. You're like an American tourist "doing Europe in 7 days". You show no appreciation for culture, beauty and history.
@wanderingthomas4 жыл бұрын
I get the point but like I said, it's a particular video style. You say> delete this. But if you looked a bit further you could see all my video's are like this. They are walking scenes and more about immersion and not so much informative. Like me, some people just like to see and hear the pure images in the city centre. Let's say I feel nostalgic about London or Tokyo etc. I would much rather watch these type of pure scenes than a travel documentary.
