Salzburg is the fourth-largest city in Austria (after Vienna, Graz and Linz). On another walk here on POPtravel we explored the Old Town, with its famous baroque architecture • Walking in SALZBURG / ... "Old Town"
Salzburg is located at the Salzach River and has one of the best-preserved city centers in the German-speaking world. The famous movie "The Sound of Music" shows a lot of this iconic city.
We start our walk overlooking the city at "Clemens-Holzmeister-Stiege" with the church bells ringing.
There is lots to see like the Salzburg Cathedral and Mozart's Birthplace. We stroll around, see the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Salzburg and several squares on this cloudy afternoon. We explore the old town with its many small streets and arcades.
We make our way to the other side of the city over to Salzach river.
We cross the street to Mirabell Palace and have a look inside and around. This 17th century palace is a good place to enjoy some relaxing time with the ornamental gardens as we end our tour in Salzburg.

Daniel, I really enjoyed this video as well. I love the church bells. I was trying to figure out hour these bells chime. You began at 6PM and the bells went on for a great length, that I really love, and shorter at quarter till/after, and half hour. 6PM was lovely. Is that the longest one? Or at Noon? I've noticed most of your videos are after noon. The water wheel was very interesting. 6:20 Does water come down from the huge Hohensalzburg Fortress (castle) ? Once again, more phone booths 15:34. A rare thing to see now a days. (with so many cells around). AWE! A whole Lindt store! 20:49 My favorite chocolate! I'd be there everyday if we had one here in Tulsa Oklahoma USA. Glad we don't, hahaa! At 51:13 A man stops you for directions to the gardens. This is first video I've watched, to where a person talks to you and you replied. Your English is very good! Thank you for sharing this with me.

Thanks for this early comment! The video will be public later as I released another Salzburg walking video which became popular on KZbin. I'm happy now with many new subscribers on the channel. The bells at the start were ringing for he Corpus Christi holiday I think. Usually they ring way less while this day you hear them for maybe 10-15 minutes. The mountain provides some water and the water wheel is from a bakery I think. I just checked that you can do factory tours there even. I didn't manage to get to the castle this time - two walks 1 hour each that afternoon. As for my english, thanks: Sometimes I talk, like when buying entry tickets. Usually though I walk too fast so people hesitate to stop me asking something, ha. Still all is recorded as I still try to avoid showing faces.

Beautiful and scenic city, also the natural scenery. As for the bells, for a while it’s nice, but so many ringing for so long I find it annoying ...

I think it was a special occasion (Whit Monday?) why the bells were ringing extra long on that day

Different times... In 2019 there was no need for face masks. The filming month and year is always in the video description - the year here (2019) also mentioned in the title

I hate those bells at the beginning. Plus, why don't you tell us where you are. Just a boring walk thru a city. Give some commentary to make it worth watching.

1. To mute audio, press 'm' so you don't hear the bells during the first 6 seconds 2. Become a channel member and help sponsor subtitles where periodically things are explained what you are looking at

those annoying bells were playing for a lot longer than six seconds. It was for many minutes. I wanted to hear the person talk and tell about where he was. It was boring. @@poptravelorg

Excellent! My friend, excellent video! You crossed several ways I did on Nov 2019, like when you passed on Mozart Footbridge. It is incredible how Salzburg has so many passages/corridors on the way. Daniel from Rio de Janeiro.

Recently found this channel, thank you for insights into this charming city. How do you know where to go when you are filming in different locations.? Do you map out a route?
@poptravelorg
@poptravelorg 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I don't map out the route much though I often follow Google Maps and their marked yellow / busy areas mostly. I also use Mi Fit to count steps and draw my path so I avoid the same streets often. In the case of this Salzburg video - it was my 2nd visit to the city. The walk is somewhat the way back from the first one ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqXaZax8hLyanrc ) so I knew my way around a bit better while covering some different areas as well - as I recorded both walks 2 x 1h on the same afternoon / evening
