My father was born in Sapatoo Shimla in 1925. After partition, he settled in Pakistan and died here in1994. He told me very interesting stories about his place of birth including Shimla. From my childhood I had desired to visit India to see our house in Sapatoo. In current situation it seems highly impossible that my dream of seeing Sapatoo would materialize. Could anyone help me send some photos of Sapatoo for which I will be very grateful to him. My great grandfather purchased a house there in 1931. His name was Mohammad Ramzan Khan. I am 70 years old now.

In Urdu it is سپاٹو۔ Decades ago I read in a news paper wherein it was written that certain people visited Sapatoo to catch snakes. As per my late father's statement it was a small town near Shimla, picturesque and and serene and beautiful. If you are really in a mood to help me, kindly mention it to some person in local government or police or post office. I am sure they can find a solution to it. Thanks once again.

Yes I'm sorry to say but you won't be able to visit shimla even if you get indian visa. In my school MUN some students from Pakistan had come but they also didn't get permission to visit shimla, himachal.

When I visited Shimla way back in 1975 it didn't look so good. I simply can't forget the toy train journey from Kalka to Shimle, Lot of improvements have been taken place and now it looks like a Scandinavian city. Excellant videography. 1973 saw film bobby in Ritz theater. We take dosa coffee at Indian coffeehouse at mall road ,go to Christ church to pray and enjoy the panoramic views of the Himalayas inhale fresh air and shop in Lakad bazzar.Golden days unforgettable army days!!!
