Love your walk in the snow theme, do more of these )) For your records, the average cost of a part-time (25 hours a week) nursery place for a child under 2 in England is £159.61 a week (£8,299.72 a year for 52 weeks). This is up 7.7% from £150.89 a week in 2023. Add to that the cost of living, the real wages being stagnant since 2008 and the birthrate England and Wales is now the lowest since the 1970s. Also, we miss snowy winters in the UK.

Thank you! British childcare is expensive... Almost like a university tuition. I fear, here, we might slip into that too with growing private childcare.

Thank you. It was a nice walk about town. I'd be happy to see more and hear more about the day to day life. I'm in Canada. Everything here is over complicating, over regulated and expensive, including childcare. Only the unemployed foreigners receiving taxpayer funded $ assistance can afford to have more than 1 child. Everyone else is too busy working to pay taxes.

Thank you for your feedback. Canada is a beautiful country! Here, it's not all shiny, too. I definitely enjoy some trends, such as digitalisation and still affordable childcare, while consider other developments as a warning. I wish we had more support for families with many kids. Now, families with 3 and more kids do not require to pay for childcare. At the same time, in Moscow, they build a lot of accommodation, but the city is not fast enough with building childcare facilities... We still have free or quite affordable music, art, and sports schools, but they tend to cut classes... and start to offer more paid options.

This winter is unusually warm and wet. I prefer when it freezes to the point when all moisture is frozen out of the air.
