I went to Sochi this Summer from Volgograd and it’s amazing how good the weather looks in November.

Oh yes, in comparison with our Volgograd weather it is always amazing during the cold season 😊

Walking with you in Russia is always nice. It's like we were there too. Thank you.

The very beginning, with the sun-sparkled blue water washing up on the pebble rocks was just mesmerizing. Beautiful! Haha - the children are pushing their scooters and getting lots of exercise. The adults are just perched on electric scooter. What a brilliant idea and peaceful adventure for me to just sit here and enjoy the sights and sounds of the walkway. All that was missing were the smells and the feel of wind and sun. Maybe I should watch again while standing up and walking in place so I get some exercise.

It all looks great, modern. I don't like it. Russia shouldn't change into something like everyone else, give up all it's character. Smolenck has modernized, they put in a McDonalds and Burger King in the old city. Sad.

Scrat335 Sochi is different, there are some very modern cities, some very Soviet looking and in lesser known places some imperial looking ones. I’ve not been to Smolensk but looks nice.

@ It's just my opinion. I don't like modern architecture. It really sucks. Old cities in Russia are much more beautiful.

@@Svetlana-says-it-as-it-is. Belgorod is a very Soviet looking place. It was rebuilt after the war because it was leveled. Volgograd seems to be the same way Smolenck is different from both. A lot of the city made it through the war intact. They modernized it but kept most of the old flavors.

Scrat335 Interesting, I just had a quick look on google images of Belgorod, it’s close to the Ukrainian border, I heard the name before but knew nothing of it.

@@Svetlana-says-it-as-it-is. I was last there in 2008. First time was 2004 and it was doing pretty well. Cranes all over the horizon. There was an eatery at the central market that really drew a crowd. They made piroshkies and never fast enough. 50°36'04"N 36°35'20"E Last year an aquaintance said it was still there in another building and still just as good.
