Interesting video. Altberg have a really good video about caring for desert boots in extreme heat and how they can shrink by up to two sizes in extreme circumstances. Keep up the good work. Thanks for the vids👍

Many thanks, yes on refection because of the high humidity followed by drying perhaps caused the boots to shrink a little Take care out there

51 degrees - wow!! The volume on this video is so low , that I have hold my phone to my ear in order to hear. But then I can't see the video.

Nice to see another video. 51 degrees Celsius is no joke and your opinion must be hard earned. Great to see good advice especially considering the spate of Brits in the news recently who have got lost in hot climates. Maybe this is a daft question but what do men typically wear in that area? In my minds eye I see men in traditional white flowing robes but I have never been there.

Thanks, yes this was a bit of an impromptu video because of the recent tragedies, re Dress in the UAE, Saudi, etc local men wear the white flowing garment ( Thobe ) while women wear the Black garments ( Abajas ) that cover other items they are wearing. Expats tend to wear Western dress of varying sorts depending on Job etc Leisure wear I wear Polo shirts and light trousers/slacks. If you remember TE Lawrence ( Lawrence of Arabia ) switched to local dress for practical reasons plus so he would also be more accepted by the tribes Take care out there

If you haven't already, I'd like to see a video about your years in the Mideast.
@ontherunplmr12182 ай бұрын
It would be a very long video ! first went to live in Saudi in 1980 and then Dubai ( UAE ) retired back to the UK in 2018 although I still visit 3-4 times a year Lots of changes during that period, recently say last 5 years or so Saudi Arabia has changed so much. One of my interesting trips was to visit the old Hejaz railway that Lawrence of Arabia attacked during WW1 the old stations and forts still there because they were built of stone most of the track has been taken up, built in the 1900's by the Turks with German engineers. Take care out there

@@ontherunplmr1218 Speaking of change, a couple of years ago, there was an electronic dance music festival in Saudi Arabian that was attended my both sexes! And if my memory is correct, I believe Madonna was supposed to play in SA. My things are changing. I bet SA has quite the underground scene.

All is well - I turned off the air conditioner. Kinda looks like the American southwest - suburban Phoenix. Except for the dirt streets and date palms. Do you do plumbing jobs in Dubai!
@ontherunplmr12182 ай бұрын
By the time I get to Phoenix ! great song by Glen Campbell, no I was not plumbing in the Middle East , although I started work at 15 in my local Water Department in the UK and I do have a British City and Guild qualification in Plumbing Todays trivial fact ! Take care out there

Did you say 70c in Kuwait?
@ontherunplmr12182 ай бұрын
Hello yes one year it went to 70c in Kuwait, I was not in Kuwait at that particular time but was told by my business contacts, All the AC's packed in and batteries exploded in cars ! I have never understood the reason but Kuwait does always get hotter in the summer than the other Gulf Countries Take care out there
